Arabian Reseller speaks to Mohammed Khizar Ulla, the Head of Business for Middle East at Lava, about the company’s plans for GITEX.
Are you participating at GITEX Shopper this year?
Yes and this is our first participation at GITEX Shopper. GITEX Shopper is one of the biggest events in UAE and a great platform to connect with consumers and understand their buying habits.
What are your plans for the event this year?
Lava is purely driven on R&D – we invest significantly to understand what the industry trends are and what a consumer is looking for. This year we will be showcasing the phones that we recently launched. Also we will use this opportunity to interact with local consumers to get their feedback and understand their preferences. We will be offering a range of exciting offers through our retail partners and have daily draws throughout the exhibition.
What is your theme for GITEX Shopper and GITEX Technology Week?
‘Live for brighter’ as LAVA is always committed to bring customers rich and enjoyable experiences with delicate design and excellent camera for easier shots and brighter pictures. We appeal to young people to cherish and live in the present, since a brighter future lies in every single “today”. Iris 870 is our flagship model which is also online zithromax being introduced at GITEX that produces clear and righter pictures.
What technology and market trends have you seen this year on the Middle East market?
We have noticed a consistency in our sales since we have launched. We have also noticed increase in brand acceptance and increase in distribution width. Our phones cater to a wide audience that has all the features of a smart phone (such as faster connectivity, extended battery life, apps, camera quality, etc.) at an affordable cost which is what a consumer is looking for.
Will you be launching any new products or solutions at GITEX this year?
Our recent launched products will be available this shopper. We will also be working very closely with our partners to offer consumers the best shopping deal – (varies with different retailers) this will include discounts, bundle offers and draws.
Will you be recruiting new channel partners? If yes, for which markets?
Yes, after positive response we expanding our geographical reach and looking at fostering relationships with new partners specially for Iran and North Africa. GITEX Shopper really helps us build brand equity, and help us make our presence felt in this competitive market as this event brings over large number of potential buyers looking for the best technology deal.
