Akamai has announced the appointment of Hans Nipshagen to the role of Head of EMEA Channels and Alliances. Nipshagen will be responsible for Akamai’s EMEA channel strategy, a primary route to market in the region. His new role will see him growing Akamai’s regional partner programme to drive sales growth.
Nipshagen has worked with Akamai for over seven years in a wide variety of roles, most recently as Regional Sales Leader, with responsibility for sales of security and performance services in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. He is also the Managing Director of Akamai Benelux. Nipshagen is based in Amsterdam and was the first Akamai employee in Benelux, successfully growing the business in the region and building its local channel partner network.
Prior to Akamai, Nipshagen worked with a range of large international carriers including Verizon and UUNET. He has more than twenty years of industry experience, and an excellent track record as a sales leader, having previously managed the Enterprise sales organisation of Verizon in The Netherlands. He is experienced in working with multi-channel sales strategies and working with a broad set of partners across diverse cultures.
“As more and more businesses realise that the future of the internet is at the edge, there has never been more opportunities for channel organisations to drive business with a company like Akamai,” Nipshagen said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to build on the collaboration between Akamai, local partners and customers to drive our channel ecosystem forward. Strong security protection is at the core of Akamai’s channel portfolio and is one of the fundamentals of business, so being able to combine our platform with the insight of local partners will help us all to deliver the best results for our customers.”
