Acer Focuses on the Digital Transformation of the UAE Education Sector

Acer is enabling digitized learning for school students across the UAE by providing 45,000 devices to 100+ public schools. The deal is in line with the UAE Vision 2021, which calls for a transformation of the current education system and teaching methods. The strategy also aims for all schools to be equipped with smart systems and devices as a basis for all teaching methods.

Acer has partnered with the global leading education technology provider, Alef Education, to deliver a new and innovative holistic AI-powered learning platform to thousands of students across the UAE. Commenting on the partnership, Paul Collins, Country Manager MEA, at Acer said, “With educational institutes transforming their learning from textbooks to digital learning, we look forward to helping streamline the entire syllabus for public middle school students in the UAE thanks to our partnership with Alef Education. Through our partnership, we will look to drive and provide a seamless futuristic education experience for both students and educators.”

Geoffrey Alphonso, CEO of Alef Education said: “We chose Acer as a partner because we are confident in their products and services and commitment to innovation. Acer devices help provide the vehicle that enables students, teachers and school administrators to use Alef’s digital learning platform”. “We hope to enhance the entire classroom experience for students and teachers across the UAE and with Acer’s track record and experience we are also exploring joint innovation and growth opportunities both on a regional and international level”.

The partnership with Alef Education marks Acer’s largest deal in the Middle East and Africa to date. The move will see more than 1,000 teachers across public schools equipped and trained on how to use all the devices in collaboration with LearnIT and Alef Education. In addition, Acer also partnered with Leba Innovation – a market leader in providing charging solutions to education establishments – to provide a total of 900 Charging Carts for use with the laptops in the classrooms.
