Tell us about the inaugural Retail Connect EMEA event?
Retail Connect EMEA will be a first digital buyer-seller meet for the consumer electronic sector which will give qualified buyers (decision makers from distributors and retailers) the opportunity to meet and talk to the decision makers at the vendors so that they can not only see an online pitch of the product but also have a one on one meeting to discuss business possibilities and options. In addition, our content partner, GfK will be sharing some of the market insights across special conference content that covers growth opportunities and tools to help the consumer electronics retail sector thrive.
How many vendors are participating at the event?
We have 40 new vendors from across the world in 9 key categories that include audio, fitness & sport, health & wellness, gaming, mobile accessories, photo & video, PC accessories, smart home, and smart travel.
What is the key purpose of this event and what value add will it bring to exhibitors and attendees?
In a COVID-19 world, we realised that we needed a viable alternative to live events and the opportunity to reach across geographies without having to get on a plane and go through all the rituals that travel entails these days.
The Pitch Your Product initiative is quite unique. What will be the run time of the pitching session and how many participants have registered for it?
This is a very popular segment and gives vendors the opportunity to showcase their products focusing on key products or new ones within three minutes. A live vote will allow buyers to vote for the best product in various product groups. It also gives these buyers the opportunity to find out a bit more to see if it would be a good fit for their portfolio before setting up one on one meetings with them.
What sort of follow up initiatives have you planned post-event?
We will be offering all our participants (vendors, distributors and retailers) the opportunity to be on our ChannelHub platform that will give them the opportunity to stay in communication well after the event is over. The platform allows them to not only continue access profiles and continue conversations but allows the buyer to order samples etc.
