GITEX Global 2022: AMD to Help Businesses Accelerate Their Digital Transformation Journey
Zaid Ghattas, the Senior Commercial Sales Leader at AMD for META Region, speaks about his company’s participation at GITEX Global 2022
Are you participating in GITEX Global 2022? If yes, which products and solutions will you be showcasing at the event?
Yes, we will be participating in GITEX Global 2022. Whilst we won’t have products or services on display, we are keen to meet with customers interested in AMD technologies and our colleagues will be pleased to welcome you to the booth in Hall 7 – F50.
What are your expectations from the event this year?
We are participating at GITEX, the largest technology show in the Middle East region, to support the United Arab Emirates’ digital transformation along with being able to meet with our customers, channel partners, and our ecosystem partners all under one roof. In parallel, our participation at GITEX helps us to create a dialogue with all participating delegates.
What will be your theme of participation at GITEX?
As a company focused on building leadership high-performance and adaptive products that push the boundaries of what is possible, our main theme will be high-performance computing. AMD’s wide portfolio of products enables us to support broad business segments, including education and research as well as numerous other industries.
Creating a more sustainable business has become a key priority for organisations and today more and more companies are setting sustainability and/or energy efficiency objectives. For those organisations, there are lessons to be learned from the innovative technologies being employed by some of the world’s fastest supercomputers, particularly those developed by AMD.
Do you plan to run any online engagements such as webinars and offline engagements such as tech talks, demos, and so on, alongside GITEX?
Whilst we won’t have products or services on display at our booth, we are keen to meet with customers interested in AMD technologies and our colleagues will be pleased to welcome you to the booth in Hall 7 – F50.
How have your regional strategies changed in recent months?
At AMD, we are providing solutions for businesses and enterprises to accelerate their digital transformation journey. With that in mind, the AMD Middle East, Turkey & Africa team has grown significantly in recent months as we aim to deepen our customer engagements and enable a broader number of our partners.
COVID-19 has been a huge accelerator for transformation in the region and as the case numbers are decreasing, the rapid need for digitalization is increasing. With a young population in the region made up primarily of millennials and Generation Z, we’re ambitious for the future with a goal to increase energy efficiency for AMD processors and Instinct GPU accelerators by 30x from 2020 to 2025.
AMD is driving towards competitive energy efficiency goals, which we are expecting to reach ahead of expected timelines.
