GITEX Global 2022: Snowflake to Highlight the Power of the Data Cloud

Mohamed Zouari, the General Manager for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Snowflake, says GITEX is valuable to increase awareness around its solutions

Which products and solutions will you be showcasing at the event?
Snowflake first rapidly transformed data analytics in 2014, then data collaboration in 2018, and is now zeroed in on disrupting application development with the Data Cloud. Snowflake is attending GITEX Technology Week, and will highlight how it’s empowering users to build on top of Snowflake, monetize their data-intensive applications, and deploy them to Snowflake users directly in the Data Cloud.

With Snowflake as the platform for application development, it’s not only simple for users to unlock discovery and collaboration across their entire organization, but with just a few more clicks, they can even externalize applications to the entire Data Cloud network and unlock new revenue streams. With Snowflake, the barriers that have inhibited enterprise collaboration are gone, and organizations are embracing a new sharing economy with Snowflake’s innovations.

What are your expectations from the event this year?
As Snowflake expands in the UAE and across the globe, attending GITEX is valuable to increase awareness around the Snowflake Data Cloud and its economic impact in the region. GITEX offers a great place for organizations to learn more about Snowflake, the innovative technology that powers the Data Cloud, and why Snowflake is quickly exploding from a groundbreaking tool to the new industry standard for healthcare, media, finance, retail, advertising, manufacturing, and technology companies, growing its global customer base by +26.5% percent to 6,800+ active customers in the last 12 months.

What will be your theme of participation at GITEX?
As the UAE rapidly becomes one of the most technologically advanced regions in the world and remains a global hub for innovation and digital transformation, Snowflake continually finds value in networking with customers, partners, and industry peers at events such as GITEX Technology Week. Data is central to ensuring the success of these modern businesses as they seek to compete on a global scale, and gaining a first-hand look at how different organizations are leveraging their data to drive innovation will be a great takeaway from the event.

Do you plan to run any online engagements such as webinars and offline engagements such as tech talks, demos, keynotes, and so on, alongside GITEX?
Yes, we have a packed agenda of engagements during GITEX. Snowflake will be hosting a short keynote presentation on “Data Without Borders – Innovating in the Data Cloud,” during the third day of GITEX. We’ll also be hosting a panel session on “The Path to Secure Data Sharing and Monetisation,” with some very esteemed speakers.

In addition, Snowflake is holding a tech talk on “The Data Cloud: Unlock Seamless Data Collaboration,” and we’re partnering with Microsoft MEA and Digital Dubai Authority on their booths. Our presence at GITEX will highlight the power of the Data Cloud, and increase awareness of how organizations can further mobilize the world’s data with Snowflake.

How have your regional strategies changed in recent months?
To further help organizations across the globe unlock the power of their data, Snowflake launched in the UAE one year ago by opening a regional hub in Dubai. Snowflake is committed to strengthening ties with regional partners and customers across the UAE, covering the full Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, as we continue to scale the power of the Snowflake Data Cloud.

Now, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is accelerating its digital journey and key projects such as Vision 2030, including smart cities with built-in digital and data-critical use cases. We are now looking to expand to KSA, bringing the value of the Snowflake Data Cloud to local customers in order to help drive the government’s vision around data and artificial intelligence.
