Lenovo to Demonstrate Real-World Applications of AI at GITEX
Mohammed Hilili, the General Manager for Gulf at Lenovo, speaks about his company’s participation at GITEX 2023
Tell us about your participation at GITEX 2023. Which products and solutions will you be showcasing at the event?
We’re taking a more holistic approach at GITEX this year, going beyond just products. Our focus is to demonstrate how AI is already part of our lives, making things easier and more efficient. Through interactive experiences, we want visitors to see firsthand the real-world applications of AI, and how Lenovo is committed to integrating this technology in a way that enhances daily living.
What are your expectations from the event this year?
We’re thrilled to be at GITEX, a hub for innovation and fresh ideas. Our goal is to connect with partners and customers to better understand what they need and what challenges they’re facing. But it’s not just a one-way street; we’re also excited to learn from the amazing innovations that other companies will showcase. In short, we’re looking forward to a fruitful exchange of knowledge and ideas.
What will be your theme of participation at GITEX 2023?
Our main theme zeros in on our recent advancements in AI-enabled technology. We aim to share how this technology isn’t just a futuristic concept but is already improving our daily lives. We’ll highlight Lenovo’s work in research and development as well as our commitment to sustainability.
Do you plan to run any online engagements such as webinars and offline engagements such as tech talks, demos, keynotes, and so on, alongside GITEX 2023?
Absolutely. We believe in sharing insights, so we’ll have both local and international speakers. For instance, we’ll have Kate Swanborg from DreamWorks Animation delivering a keynote. She’ll discuss how Lenovo and DreamWorks are working together to redefine the movie and animation industry. We want to provide a well-rounded view that extends beyond our own industry.
How have your regional strategies changed in recent months?
The pandemic has changed the way we live and work, making hybrid models the norm. We understand that customers now have more complex tech needs. That’s why we’ve introduced our Solutions and Services Group and TruScale, which is designed to make IT solutions as easy to obtain as buying a personal computer. In addition, we’re doubling our global investment in research and development over the next three years and planning to hire 12,000 professionals. This investment spans from immediate market needs to long-term research, balancing quick wins with enduring innovation.
