A10 Networks to Show Off its Harmony Solution Architecture at GITEX 2016

Arabian Reseller speaks toHenk Jan Spanjaard, the Vice President for EMEA Sales at A10 Networks, about their plans for GITEX this year.

What is the primary focus of your participation at this year’s GITEX?
The focus for A10 Networks this year will be on showcasing the company’s A10 Harmony solution architecture. The first of its kind solution empowers businesses to deliver secure application services across traditional data centres, private, public and hybrid clouds, helping them become more secure, responsive and operationally agile as they bridge traditional and cloud-based application environments.

What is the relevance of this show to your business in the region?
While the industry will continue to buzz about big data, cloud, mobile, social and IoT, I fully expect security to be at the top of the priority list of most CIOs and CTOs. GITEX provides us with the ideal platform to not only educate enterprises about these threats, but more importantly, to demonstrate how our solutions can help regional customers accelerate and secure their data centre applications and networks.

What kind of products and solutions are you showcasing at the event?
We will focus on A10 Harmony solutions that include a cloud services controller for centralized application policy management and orchestration, elastic application traffic management capabilities integrated with DevOps processes, deep per-application visibility and analytics, and support for micro-services and container-based applications.

A10 Networks will also demonstrate its wide range of market leading security solutions including DDoS protection, SSL Inspection, Data Centre Firewall, Gi/SGi Firewall, Secure Web Gateway, Web Application Firewall and DNS Application Firewall. The company recently signed a technology partnership with Cylance, a company that is revolutionizing cybersecurity through the use of artificial intelligence to proactively prevent advanced persistent threats and malware.

The combined A10 Networks and Cylance solution brings together the best of secure application network technology with proactive prevention and detection of advanced persistent threats and malware. Cylance Protect is an ideal complement for A10 Networks’ SSLi solution, which offers very high-speed SSL inspection for end-user traffic, protection against malware even when encrypted in SSL/HTTPS and protection for incoming and outgoing email traffic.

How does GITEX help you connect with your customers and partners?
No other ICT event in the region gives you as much access to partners and customers as Gitex. It’s a ‘not to miss’ event for anyone and everyone connected with the tech industry and a great platform to build on existing relationships and forge new ones.

What kind of IT trends do you see impacting the regional ICT industry in the next two years?
Cloud has been trending for a while now and we’re starting to see many more cloud services being deployed in our region, so this is still a space to watch. Cloud has also been driving our understanding of data usage with latest statistics showing business is nearly doubling its use year on year.

Therefore, ‘Big Data’ is fast becoming a priority in the large enterprise, government and health verticals and the networking industry must be ready with innovative solutions to meet the demand. There is a huge push throughout the region on Virtualization. Operators will start looking at technologies like Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN). This will continue in 2017 and there will be a buzz about these technologies next year.

A lot of customers have also begun to look closely at their security solutions and the reason for that is that the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) concept which has been around for a very long time has now begun to attract a lot of security concerns. Security – whether it be mobile security or DDoS will also be much talked about in the next year.

Finally the other hot trend of today like the Internet of Things (IoT) will have gained momentum this year and next and there is a lot of excitement around actual deployment of IoT technologies.
