TAITRA Leads Trade Delegation to the GCC

Commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) led a trade delegation of 25 well-established Taiwanese suppliers representing various industries to the GCC countries such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait. The roadshow kicked off on 3rd March 2018 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, before making its final stop in UAE on 15th March 2018.

During the 13 days of roadshow across various GCC countries, TAITRA covered Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia, from March 3 to March 9, 2018. Manama in Bahrain was covered from March 10-11, 2018, while Kuwait City in Kuwait was covered from March 12-13, 2018. The roadshow made its final stop in UAE from March 14 to March 15, 2018.

The event was organised to give the local UAE companies an opportunity to develop business partnerships with their Taiwanese counterparts. A total of 25 Taiwanese companies participated in the roadshow that represented industry verticals such as hardware, telecom, networking, digital signage, electronics, electrical, water management, gaming and so much more.

Speaking exclusively to Arabian Reseller, Woody Wang, the Director of TAITRA in Dubai, UAE, said, “The trade mission covered all sorts of industry verticals from Taiwan, such as auto parts, computer, electronics, tools, hardware, medical instruments, and so on. We hope they can have a good exposure of their products to the Middle East market. Taiwan is known for quality products and through this roadshow we want to affirm our position as a trusted and dependable source from which local and regional companies can buy finished products from.”

Wang went on to say that most products from Taiwan are very competitive as well in terms of pricing. “Many companies who are participating in the roadshow are already doing business with some Middle Eastern companies. Many, however, are quite new to the market. This roadshow provides them with a platform to expand their global footprint into the Middle East region,” Wang added.
