Phoenix Contact Expands WLAN Portfolio with Wi-Fi 6E Modules

Phoenix Contact is boosting industrial automation with new Wi-Fi 6E (IEEE 802.11ax) WLAN client modules that tap into the newly available 6 GHz frequency band. This expansion unlocks 24 interference-free channels, allowing the modules to fully leverage the advanced features of IEEE 802.11ax for reliable, high-performance wireless networks in demanding industrial settings.

The WLAN 1022 IP20 installation module and the rugged WLAN 1122 panel-mount module utilize the 6 GHz band to significantly reduce interference and enhance network performance, resulting in faster and more stable connections even in high-traffic environments. These modules are ideal for critical wireless communication in factories, warehouses, and various industrial applications.

“With the introduction of the new WLAN modules, we are providing our customers with a future-proof solution that meets the increasing demands of industrial automation,” says Jürgen Weczerek, Product Manager Network Technology at Phoenix Contact. “Our modules ensure seamless and efficient data exchange, which is essential for the success of modern industrial processes.”
