NetApp Report Examines Global AI Leadership Competition

NetApp has released a new report titled “The AI Space Race,” which investigates the global competition among countries to lead in AI innovation. The report, based on a survey of CEOs and IT executives in the U.S., China, the U.K., and India, suggests that while some nations are more advanced, all have the potential to succeed in the pursuit of AI dominance.
The report emphasizes that AI has become a critical component for businesses. The region that emerges as a leader in AI innovation is expected to gain a strong technological position, potentially driving economic growth, improving quality of life, and increasing global political influence. Effective AI innovation, according to the report, relies on preparing data to be accessible, secure, and scalable across various environments to produce reliable outcomes.
Gabie Boko, CMO at NetApp, commented, “In the ‘Space Race’ of the 1960’s, world powers rushed to accelerate scientific innovation for the sake of national pride. The outcomes of the ‘AI Space Race’ will shape the world for decades to come.” Boko added, “The companies and regions that can get their data ready for AI will be able to generate differentiating business insights and unlock operational benefits.”
The report indicates that over 80% of surveyed CEOs and IT executives are actively pursuing AI growth within their companies.
