Lenovo Gears Up for Esports World Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia

Lenovo, the official PC and Gaming Hardware partner of the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC), is set to showcase its latest Legion gaming innovations at the tournament, offering fans a premier booth experience at Riyadh’s Content Creator Park. This initiative builds upon Lenovo’s existing presence and commitment to Saudi Arabia, following a strategic investment by Alat finalized in January 2025.

Lenovo’s on-ground presence, situated next to the main stage, highlights the brand’s dedication to promoting elite performance and an inclusive gaming culture. Attendees at the Lenovo booth will have the opportunity to experience the newest Legion devices firsthand, including the powerful Legion 9i and other Legion notebooks, through immersive fan experience zones. The full range of Lenovo’s gaming solutions—notebooks, desktops, visuals, and accessories—will be displayed, emphasizing their superior performance, cooling capabilities, and design. Gamers can also test the latest Legion devices in various on-booth tournaments, with prizes for top leaderboard finishers.

Saudi Arabia’s significant investment in esports is a key component of its Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and expand the digital entertainment sector. Through initiatives like the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF), the Kingdom plans to create over 39,000 gaming-related jobs and contribute more than US$13 billion to the national GDP by 2030.

Lenovo’s strategic partnership and investment with Alat, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, involves establishing a new manufacturing hub in the Kingdom. This facility will produce millions of “Saudi Made” laptops and desktops annually, including gaming devices and servers. By localizing manufacturing and enhancing innovation capabilities within the Kingdom, Lenovo and Alat aim to accelerate the development of gaming and technology ecosystems, generate high-skilled jobs, cultivate local esports talent, and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation goals. This partnership, finalized in January 2025, aligns with Vision 2030 and complements Lenovo’s presence at the Esports World Cup 2025, where the company is featuring its Legion portfolio to support Saudi gamers and strengthen the Kingdom’s role as a global leader in esports and digital entertainment.

Giovanni Di Filippo, Vice President & General Manager, Saudi Arabia, remarked, “With nearly 89% of the Kingdom’s population under the age of 35, Saudi youth are crucial to shaping the future of this sector. Gaming and Esports resonate strongly with a generation raised in a digital culture. It is inspiring to see Saudi youth embracing new opportunities, honing their skills, and engaging with a global community.” He added, “In Saudi Arabia, we’re committed to fostering an inclusive gaming ecosystem -one that empowers youth from all backgrounds by expanding access to technology and creating opportunities to thrive. The Esports World Cup is a celebration of this spirit, where the best gamers compete on Lenovo Legion devices and prove that with the right tools, anything is possible.”

A core element of Lenovo’s booth programming is the #HerLegion Clan: Inclusion Night, an evening dedicated to celebrating female gamers and promoting a more inclusive gaming environment. This event, executed in collaboration with Valar Club, supports Lenovo’s regional #HerLegion Clan inclusivity campaign, which empowers women in gaming through community-driven initiatives and on-ground visibility.

In line with Vision 2030’s emphasis on empowering women, Saudi Arabia is taking concrete steps to increase female participation in the gaming industry, with women now making up 48% of gamers in the Kingdom. National strategies supporting this growth include targeted funding for women-led game development, university programs focused on digital skills, and training initiatives in game design and esports management.

Di Filippo further stated, “Initiatives such as #HerLegion Clan further build on this momentum by providing safe, structured, and empowering spaces for female gamers to compete, connect, and create. These programs not only increase visibility and representation but also lay the groundwork for long-term industry leadership. As the Kingdom works to establish itself as a global gaming hub, female gamers and professionals are playing an increasingly central role in shaping the future of Saudi Arabia’s digital entertainment economy.”
