Autodesk Showcases AI-Powered Industry Cloud Innovations at AU 2025

At Autodesk University 2025, the design and engineering software leader unveiled a wave of AI-driven product innovations across its Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Operations (AECO), Design & Manufacturing (D&M), and Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry clouds. The announcements highlighted Autodesk’s vision for an AI-native future that redefines how the world is designed and made.

One of the most significant reveals was the launch of Autodesk Forma Industry Cloud, the first end-to-end AI-native cloud built for the AECO sector. By integrating Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) directly into Forma, Autodesk is creating a unified environment that links design, construction, and operations. The company also rebranded Autodesk Docs as Forma Data Management, a central hub designed to eliminate siloes and drive project-wide collaboration. Early additions include Forma Building Design (beta) and Forma Connected Clients—starting with Revit—that bridge cloud and desktop workflows.

In the D&M space, Autodesk Fusion received advanced generative AI capabilities, enabling editable CAD models from a single text prompt. The new Autodesk Assistant, now embedded in Fusion and Vault, automates tasks such as sketch constraints, toolpaths, searches, and BOM updates. A partnership with Microsoft will further enhance design workflows by delivering photorealistic context images via Azure AI and seamless export into Microsoft 365 applications.

For M&E, Autodesk introduced Flow Studio, a suite of AI-driven tools designed to accelerate animation, lighting, and compositing. New features such as MotionMaker and Face Animator in Maya dramatically cut the time required for character animation, while Autodesk Assistant now supports intuitive scene manipulation. Major studios, including ILM and Rising Sun Pictures, are already adopting these tools to meet tighter deadlines without sacrificing creative quality.

Autodesk also revealed its proprietary foundation models for Forma and Fusion, which now power automation and insights across multiple industries. The company emphasized the growing role of Autodesk Assistant as a scalable, agentic AI partner across AECO, D&M, and M&E.

“Industries worldwide are facing mounting challenges from labor shortages, supply chain pressures, and rising demand,” Autodesk noted. “By embedding AI at the core of our industry clouds, we are helping customers unlock capacity, reduce waste, and accelerate innovation.”
