Synology has launched its new DiskStation neo+ Series in the UAE, introducing a more affordable range of network-attached storage (NAS) solutions designed to help businesses balance performance with cost. The lineup includes the DS1825neo+, DS1525neo+, DS925neo+ and DS725neo+, offering a lower-cost entry point while retaining the scalability and enterprise features of the company’s Plus Series.
The launch comes as organisations across the UAE continue to accelerate digital transformation and cloud adoption. According to industry estimates, the UAE cloud services market, valued at US$6.15 billion in 2026, is projected to grow to US$9.34 billion by 2032, driving demand for flexible storage, backup and data management solutions.
“Desktop models remain at the heart of our NAS ecosystem,” said Bie-I Chu, Executive Vice President of the Synology NAS Group. “As memory market dynamics shift, the neo+ Series reinforces our commitment to accessibility, giving customers the flexibility to scale their hardware based on current budgets while supporting future growth.”
Mike Chen, Senior Regional Sales Manager for the Middle East at Synology, said businesses in the UAE are increasingly adopting cloud services while seeking greater control over how their data is stored, protected and accessed. “The DiskStation neo+ Series allows organisations to start with the capacity they need today while providing the flexibility to expand memory, storage and network performance as business requirements evolve,” he said.
Built on the same platform as the existing DiskStation Plus Series, the new neo+ models ship with 4GB of non-ECC DDR4 SODIMM memory as the default configuration, reducing the upfront cost of deployment. The neo+ Series will complement, rather than replace, the standard Plus Series, giving customers more options based on performance and budget requirements.
Despite the lower entry price, the new systems retain key performance features, including integrated M.2 SSD slots for caching and 2.5GbE networking. Storage capacity can also be expanded using the DX525 expansion unit.
For organisations requiring higher network throughput, the DS1825neo+ and DS1525neo+ include PCIe 3.0 expansion slots, enabling optional 10GbE or 25GbE network upgrades. The systems also support existing ECC memory upgrades, allowing businesses to expand memory capacity up to 32GB as workloads increase.
Powered by Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), the neo+ Series provides a comprehensive suite of tools for file sharing, collaboration, backup and surveillance. Synology Drive transforms the NAS into a private cloud platform with cross-platform access and synchronisation across multiple sites, while Active Backup Suite protects Windows, macOS, Linux devices, virtual machines and cloud workloads through centralised backup management.
The systems also support Surveillance Station, enabling organisations to deploy an on-premises network video recorder (NVR) for centralised, multi-site video surveillance. The Synology DiskStation neo+ Series is now available across the UAE through the company’s authorised distribution partners.
