Trina Storage to Unveil Elementa + Electra Energy Storage Solution in Middle East

Trina Storage, the energy storage business of Trinasolar, will showcase its latest Elementa + Electra energy storage solution at Middle East Energy 2026, marking the solution’s first launch in the Middle East. The company will present the system at the Storage Pavilion, Booth Z3.F51, during the event, which is taking place from 1–3 September at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Elementa + Electra is an integrated DC and AC utility-scale energy storage platform combining Trina Storage’s Elementa 3 battery system, with a capacity of 6.25 MWh, and the Electra 13.8 MVA AC platform. By integrating the battery and AC systems, the platform is designed to simplify system integration and deployment for large-scale energy storage projects. It supports configurations ranging from two to eight hours, allowing developers to adapt the system to different project requirements and applications.

The launch comes as countries across the Middle East and Africa expand renewable energy capacity and work towards net-zero targets. Battery energy storage systems are increasingly being deployed to balance variable renewable generation, improve grid stability and provide flexibility as solar and other renewable sources account for a larger share of electricity generation.

“The next phase of energy storage in the Middle East and Africa will be defined by the ability to deploy at scale while meeting increasingly demanding technical and operational requirements,” said Jack Chen, Head of Energy Storage, MEA Region at Trinasolar. “For Trina Storage, the focus is on providing utilities and developers with integrated solutions that combine performance, reliability and flexibility to support the long-term development of energy storage across the region.”

Elementa + Electra can deliver up to 50 MWh of storage capacity and 13.8 MVA of AC output. The system uses 587Ah high-energy-density battery cells and is designed to achieve up to 96% full-chain system efficiency. Its power conversion system provides a 10-millisecond full-power response, while grid-forming and black-start capabilities are intended to support applications requiring greater grid resilience and flexibility.

The system also incorporates multiple layers of thermal and electrical protection, including a 120-minute fire-resistance rating and six layers of electrical protection. Trina Storage said containerised transportation on both the DC and AC sides, combined with factory-level testing, could reduce on-site commissioning time by up to 50%. The company said its presence at Middle East Energy 2026 reflects its focus on providing scalable energy storage infrastructure for large-scale renewable energy and grid applications across the Middle East and Africa.
