GBM Names Pieter Bil as Chief Executive Officer

Gulf Business Machines (GBM) has appointed Pieter Willem Bil as Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than three decades of executive experience in digital transformation, technology modernisation and regional business growth to the role.

Bil will lead GBM’s strategy across its regional markets, with a focus on helping enterprise and public sector organisations adopt AI, modernise digital infrastructure and navigate increasingly complex technology environments.

He joins GBM from Kyndryl, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa. During his career, Bil has worked with Fortune 500 companies and government organisations, leading large-scale transformation programmes, business expansion and technology modernisation initiatives.

His experience includes managing complex, multi-vendor technology environments and developing transformation partnerships, as well as supporting organisations as they integrate AI into their operations.

The appointment comes as organisations across the Middle East increase investment in AI, cloud, cybersecurity and resilient digital infrastructure, while governments continue to pursue ambitious national digital transformation programmes.

Marwan Faraj Bin Hamoodah, Chairman of GBM, said Bil’s regional experience and leadership would support the company as technology becomes increasingly central to business continuity and growth. “We are delighted to welcome Pieter Bil to GBM as our new Chief Executive Officer,” said Bin Hamoodah. “Pieter’s exceptional leadership and strategic foresight will be invaluable as we continue to empower organisations with cutting-edge digital infrastructure and resilient operations.”

Bil said his immediate focus would be on building on GBM’s existing capabilities while helping customers prepare for the next phase of digital growth. “I am honoured to join GBM at such a pivotal moment in the region’s technology evolution,” said Bil. “My focus will be on continuing to deliver the robust, secure, and intelligent infrastructure required to fuel the next chapter of digital economic growth in the region.”

GBM provides technology services spanning digital infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data and AI, supporting organisations across the Middle East.

Under Bil’s leadership, the company plans to continue expanding its regional capabilities while helping enterprises and public sector organisations align technology investments with the region’s increasingly AI-driven digital economy.
