Tech Mahindra Acquires Finastra’s Cash Management Product Suite

Tech Mahindra has acquired Finastra’s Cash Management product suite, comprising Fusion Cash Management (FCM), Fusion Virtual Accounts (FVA) and Fusion Liquidity Management (FLM). The acquisition expands Tech Mahindra’s Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) portfolio and establishes a foundation for continued investment and innovation across the acquired products. It also aims to maintain continuity for existing customers through ongoing platform access, services and support, alongside the transfer of experienced product engineering and customer success professionals to Tech Mahindra.

The deal includes intellectual property (IP) associated with FCM, FVA and FLM, as well as IP and capabilities covering CashPlus, Global CashPlus, application programming interfaces (APIs), payables, receivables, balance and transaction reporting, liquidity management, cash-flow forecasting and virtual accounts.

The acquisition comes as corporate and institutional banks seek greater real-time visibility into cash positions, improved liquidity optimisation, automated payables and receivables, regulatory compliance and API-enabled treasury connectivity. Ownership of the product suite is expected to strengthen Tech Mahindra’s ability to address these requirements while helping financial institutions simplify transaction banking operations.

“The acquisition of Finastra’s Cash Management product suite strengthens our banking products portfolio and expands our ability to support financial institutions across critical cash and liquidity management needs,” said Anil Venuturupalli, SVP, Banking Group and Chief Product Officer, Financial Services, Tech Mahindra. “Through this acquisition, we are creating a strong foundation for continued innovation. Our focus is on evolving these capabilities to help banks address the growing demand for intelligent, connected and efficient cash management solutions.”

The transaction brings together product IP ownership, an established customer base and specialist product engineering and customer success teams. Combined with Tech Mahindra’s Finastra Centre of Excellence and the companies’ existing partnership, these capabilities are intended to support customer continuity and create opportunities for future product-led growth in transaction banking.

“This is a good next step for these products, and, most importantly, for the customers who rely on them,” said Ruchir Purwar, Head of Partnerships and Cross Selling Sales for Finastra. “Tech Mahindra brings deep banking and technology expertise and already knows our business well. We’re confident they are well positioned to take these solutions forward and continue supporting customers as their needs evolve.”

The acquisition further expands Tech Mahindra’s IP-led banking products portfolio, creating a platform for growth across cash and liquidity management, virtual accounts, supply chain finance, cash-flow forecasting and related transaction banking services.
