Synology Debuts DVA7400 to Scale AI Surveillance Across Enterprise Sites
Synology has introduced the DVA7400, its flagship Deep Learning Analytics appliance designed to help enterprises deploy large-scale AI-powered video surveillance while keeping all data processing and storage on-premises.
Designed for organisations managing distributed surveillance environments, the DVA7400 combines centralised camera management with AI-driven video analytics, enabling businesses to scale surveillance operations without compromising data privacy or regulatory compliance.
“The DVA7400 represents the culmination of Synology’s nearly two decades of expertise in physical security,” said Josh Lin, Director of the Synology Surveillance Group. “By combining centralized management for distributed camera fleets with completely localized AI analytics, it empowers enterprises to scale their surveillance infrastructure without compromising on data privacy.”
Built on a 2U 12-bay rackmount platform, the appliance can manage up to 100 high-resolution camera streams while simultaneously running 40 real-time deep learning analytics tasks. All video recordings and AI metadata are processed and stored locally, ensuring sensitive surveillance data remains within an organisation’s infrastructure.
The DVA7400 also functions as a central management server through Synology Surveillance Station’s Central Management System (CMS), allowing organisations to oversee cameras and recording servers deployed across multiple locations from a single interface.
Among its new capabilities is Semantic Video Search, which enables operators to search archived footage using natural language queries. A dedicated hardware accelerator processes search requests independently, allowing real-time analytics workloads to continue without affecting performance.
The appliance also introduces Attribute Search, allowing investigators to filter footage using characteristics such as clothing colour or vehicle type, alongside License Plate Recognition for access control and Find Repeated Objects, which helps reconstruct an individual’s movements across different locations. These features complement existing AI capabilities including facial recognition, crowd detection, intrusion detection, and people and vehicle counting.
Supporting server-side AI analytics and broad ONVIF Profile compatibility, the DVA7400 can add AI-powered capabilities to existing camera deployments without requiring organisations to replace their installed surveillance hardware.
The Synology DVA7400 is now available through the company’s global network of distributors and system integrators.
