du has collaborated with Microsoft, Nokia, Khalifa University’s 6G Research Center, and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to introduce the first-of-its-kind Arabic Telecom Large Language Model (LLM). This AI model is specifically designed for internal telecom operations and is intended to enhance du’s processes and support the UAE’s goal for sovereign AI capabilities..

This partnership combines global technological innovation, regional research, and international policy to create an AI model that performs critical telecom functions in Arabic. The du Arabic Telecom LLM will serve as a telecom assistant for du’s internal teams, offering real-time handling of customer complaints, resolution of device issues, and intelligent operational insights through culturally fluent and context-aware dialogue.
