Infasme and Fotopia Technologies have launched Digitizeme, a document management system (DMS) aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UAE. The platform is designed to address document management requirements among smaller businesses, which the companies say have traditionally faced a choice between enterprise systems that can be costly and complex and simpler alternatives that may not provide the required compliance and control features.
Digitizeme combines document capture, optical character recognition (OCR), version control, role-based access and workflow automation. Documents are hosted in UAE and KSA data centres, with the companies positioning regional data residency as a key part of the platform’s design.
AI-Based Document Capture
The platform uses AI-driven scanning and OCR to extract information from scanned documents, photographs and PDFs. Its OCR supports both Arabic and English, including right-to-left document layouts. Infasme and Fotopia say the system achieves more than 99% accuracy across the two languages.
Documents can be organised through intelligent tagging and searched using full-text search. Businesses can also configure approval and routing workflows for processes involving multiple documents or stages of review. A document audit trail records changes made to files, while role-based permissions are intended to control access to sensitive information. The platform also supports integration with business and ERP systems used in the UAE.
Combining ECM and Digitisation Experience
Digitizeme is based on the combined experience of Infasme in enterprise content management and Fotopia Technologies in document digitisation and archiving across the MENA region. The companies said the platform was developed in response to the document management requirements of SMEs, particularly businesses that need greater control over contracts, approvals, records and other sensitive documents without deploying large-scale enterprise infrastructure.
“The UAE SME market has been underserved for too long when it comes to document management. Business owners are using WhatsApp groups to share contracts, email threads to track approvals, and consumer cloud storage for sensitive documents. Digitizeme was built to solve this, to give UAE businesses a platform that actually works for them, at a price they can afford, with the compliance assurance their industry demands,” said Raef Eid, President of Fotopia Technologies.
