Houbara Defence & Security Looks to Expand into the GCC Region

Brigadier (rtd.) Tim Allen, the CEO of Houbara Defence & Security, says the company will showcase secure critical communications with truly global coverage

Tell us about your participation at CCW 2024. Which products and solutions will you be showcasing at the event?
We are excited to be participating in CCW 24; this will be the first occasion that we have exhibited at the event. We will be showcasing our breakthrough ultra-secure SATCOM solution, BRACER, with our partner Iridium, as well as specialised SATCOM products for Government and Military use.

What are your expectations from the event this year?
We are already an established supplier of BRACER in UAE, and CCW 2024 gives us the opportunity to widen our exposure both within UAE and across the region to a raft of new potential users, plus increase exposure for our other leading-edge Iridium products. Our SATCOM solutions provide voice communication and situational awareness for a wide range of applications including emergency response, disaster recovery, and military and covert operations – with BRACER enabling a higher degree of coordination and synchronization at every level. We are keen to foster the adoption of our range of products in oil & gas and other critical infrastructure organizations.

What will be your theme of participation at CCW 2024?
Our key theme with the BRACER product is P.A.C.E. (Primary, Alternate, Contingency & Emergency) – secure critical communications with truly global coverage.

How have your regional strategies changed in recent months?
Recent events have served to demonstrate how vulnerable critical infrastructure can be to not only human conflict but also to the forces of nature. Robust communications, that are not reliant on fixed infrastructure, have to feature strongly in national resilience planning. After building a solid customer base here in the UAE, we are looking forward to expanding our market to the GCC region and beyond.

Do you plan to run online engagements such as webinars and offline engagements such as tech talks, demos, keynotes, and so on, alongside CCW 2024?
As our products’ usage is typically tailored to specific end-users’ operational needs and applications, we prefer to have one-on-one interactions with potential users. If our participation at CCW 2024 proves productive, then we will be keen to explore other opportunities for demonstrating thought leadership at future events.
