Nutanix and Saudi Ministry Sign MoU to Strengthen Hybrid Cloud and AI Infrastructure
Nutanix and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore collaboration around hybrid multicloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and business continuity.
Signed during LEAP Saudi Arabia 2026 in Riyadh, the agreement brings together MEWA’s digital transformation programme and Nutanix’s hybrid multicloud technology capabilities. The MoU is also intended to support the development of local technical expertise in modern infrastructure management and cloud technologies.
Under the agreement, the organisations will explore ways to modernise MEWA’s digital infrastructure and enable applications and workloads to operate across data centres and multiple cloud environments. The collaboration will focus on improving infrastructure flexibility and resilience while supporting business continuity, disaster recovery and cybersecurity.
Artificial intelligence is another area of focus, with the partnership expected to examine how modern hybrid cloud infrastructure can provide a foundation for AI adoption across the Ministry’s operations.
The MoU was signed by Dr Abdullhameed Abdullah Aleliwi, Deputy Minister for Information Technology and Digital Transformation at MEWA, and Talal Al-Saif, Regional Director for Saudi Arabia at Nutanix.
“Digital transformation is a fundamental pillar supporting the Kingdom’s ambitions to build resilient, agile and data-driven government and robust public services,” said Dr Abdullhameed Abdullah Aleliwi. “Through this MoU, we look forward to exploring opportunities to enhance our digital infrastructure, strengthen business continuity and develop national capabilities in advanced cloud and AI technologies.”
Beyond infrastructure modernisation, the agreement places emphasis on knowledge transfer and national capability development. The two organisations will explore initiatives to build local expertise in hybrid multicloud computing and modern infrastructure management, supporting Saudi Arabia’s broader technology localisation objectives.

He added that the MoU also reflects Nutanix’s focus on knowledge transfer and developing local technical capabilities in Saudi Arabia.
