CrowdStrike Expands Sovereign Cloud Footprint with Saudi Arabia Launch

CrowdStrike has expanded its global data sovereignty strategy with the launch of a sovereign cloud deployment in Saudi Arabia, bringing its Falcon cybersecurity platform to organisations seeking to strengthen security while retaining control over sensitive data within the Kingdom.

The deployment targets government entities, critical national infrastructure operators and enterprises, providing access to CrowdStrike’s AI-native cybersecurity capabilities through locally hosted infrastructure. It is designed to address growing demand for data residency, regulatory alignment and advanced threat protection as Saudi Arabia accelerates its digital transformation and AI adoption.

With the new deployment, Falcon security workloads, customer telemetry and management infrastructure will be hosted within Saudi Arabia. Organisations can consolidate their cybersecurity operations on the platform while retaining access to CrowdStrike’s global threat intelligence, AI-powered detection and security expertise.

The move reflects an increasing focus on balancing national data sovereignty requirements with the need for protection against cyber adversaries operating across international boundaries. CrowdStrike’s approach combines local infrastructure with global security intelligence, allowing organisations to use AI-driven security capabilities without relinquishing control over sensitive data.

“Adversaries operate without borders. Sovereignty shouldn’t mean sacrificing security,” said Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike. “With Falcon in Saudi Arabia, organizations get the local data control they need and the global intelligence to stop breaches. We’re giving customers the freedom to embrace AI without compromising security or sovereignty.”

The launch also builds on CrowdStrike’s relationship with Saudi Aramco, supporting the Kingdom’s ambitions to develop its digital economy and strengthen its technology capabilities.

“Through this relationship, we are taking an important step toward supporting the Kingdom’s growth by bringing world-class technologies to Saudi Arabia. Together, we aim to advance the Kingdom’s ambition to lead in secure, AI-driven economic growth and help organizations thrive in the digital age,” said Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter, Aramco Executive Vice President of Technology & Innovation.

Beyond conventional cybersecurity workloads, the Saudi deployment addresses emerging risks associated with autonomous AI agents. The Falcon platform can discover AI agents operating within an organisation, provide visibility into their behaviour and the systems and data they access, and identify and stop malicious activity in real time.

The deployment also incorporates an architecture designed to align with applicable Saudi cybersecurity, cloud and data protection requirements. This is intended to help organisations meet local compliance obligations while maintaining access to CrowdStrike’s wider security capabilities.

By combining in-country data residency with global adversary intelligence, AI-powered threat detection and expert-led threat hunting, CrowdStrike aims to provide organisations with a consistent security framework across their environments.

The Saudi sovereign cloud launch forms part of the company’s broader global data sovereignty strategy, which seeks to extend its security platform into markets with specific requirements around data location and control. The Falcon sovereign cloud deployment is available immediately to customers and authorised partners in Saudi Arabia.
