METSCCO Selects IFS Cloud with Industrial AI to Modernise Complex Industrial Operations
IFS has announced that METSCCO Heavy Steel Industries (METSCCO), a provider of industrial infrastructure solutions, has selected IFS Cloud, embedded with IFS.ai, to advance its digital transformation strategy. The implementation is intended to modernise business operations, streamline manufacturing processes and support METSCCO’s continued growth across Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
IFS Cloud will provide METSCCO with an integrated platform covering enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing, supply chain, finance, project management, quality management and maintenance operations. The company selected the platform for its capabilities in engineer-to-order (ETO) manufacturing, project-based operations, asset management and maintenance, as well as its ability to provide a unified foundation for managing complex industrial activities.
Rahul Misra, SVP and Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa at IFS, said the implementation would help METSCCO strengthen operational efficiency and customer service. “METSCCO is focused on its commitment to customer service as well as strengthening business operations. Their choice to implement IFS Cloud, which has vital Industrial AI within its architecture, will help strengthen production planning, optimise resource utilisation, improve supply chain coordination and enhance project execution,” Misra said.
He added that IFS was pleased to support the modernisation of one of Saudi Arabia’s leading manufacturers of complex industrial projects. Eng Abdullah Al Sabhan, CEO and Vice Chairman of METSCCO, said the company needed a technology platform capable of adapting to evolving industrial requirements while supporting its engineering-led business model.
“Industrial needs are ever changing, and it is important for us to stay ahead of the curve. IFS Cloud helps us unify our assets, operations and service. Having our engineering, projects, procurement, manufacturing and finance on a single platform makes it even stronger for an engineer-to-order organisation like ours,” Al Sabhan said.
He highlighted the platform’s flexibility as a key factor in the selection process, noting that METSCCO could work within its own operational parameters rather than having to adapt its processes to a standard ERP system. Al Sabhan also pointed to the role of IFS.ai in providing real-time operational insights to support timely decision-making and auditable actions for customers.
IFS.ai is designed to help organisations plan investments, manage complex operations and improve customer service across the asset lifecycle. In asset-intensive industries, the ability to connect operational data with assets and supply chain activities is particularly important for managing performance, maintenance and long-term reliability. By combining enterprise applications with Industrial AI capabilities, IFS aims to help organisations improve current operations while making more informed decisions about future requirements.
IFS maintains its Middle East headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and continues to invest in the region. The company serves customers across several industries, including manufacturing, energy, utilities, services, aviation and defence, transport, and construction and engineering. For METSCCO, the adoption of IFS Cloud represents a move towards a more connected operating environment, bringing core business functions together to support manufacturing efficiency, project execution and the management of complex industrial operations.
