GBM Launches UAE AI Lab Powered by Cisco Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA

Gulf Business Machines (GBM), a digital solutions provider, has launched what it describes as the UAE’s first AI Lab built on the Cisco Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA, providing organisations across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) with infrastructure for developing, testing and deploying AI applications in secure on-premises and hybrid environments.
The AI Lab is designed to help organisations shorten AI deployment timelines from months to weeks while addressing requirements around data residency, regulatory compliance, security and low-latency processing. Through the lab, organisations can test AI use cases in an environment designed for the GCC’s regulatory and data sovereignty requirements before moving workloads into production. GBM will also offer end-to-end Secure AI Factory architectures spanning infrastructure from the data centre to the edge.
The AI Lab is based on Cisco’s pre-validated, modular AI infrastructure with NVIDIA, which combines high-performance computing and networking with security capabilities across the AI infrastructure stack. The platform includes NVIDIA AI Enterprise software and monitoring capabilities for AI workloads and agent activity, with security policies designed to be enforced across multiple layers of the infrastructure.
The approach is intended to give organisations greater control over where AI workloads and data are processed while providing the infrastructure needed to scale AI applications.
Pieter Bil, CEO at GBM, said, “As regional enterprises transition from AI experimentation to full-scale operationalisation, they face a critical decision-making window. Building production-grade AI requires a delicate balance between rapid innovation and strict data governance. We have bridged this gap by turning world-class technology frameworks into secure, locally managed platforms tailored for the GCC.”
Cassie Roach, VP of Global Partner Sales, AI Infrastructure & Connectivity at Cisco, said, “The next era of AI growth in the Gulf will be defined by those organisations that are able to move their AI visions to commercial reality quickly and effectively, with sovereign control and resilience. Our collaboration with GBM and NVIDIA is about more than deploying infrastructure, it is about helping accelerate the Gulf’s ambition to lead the global AI economy on its own terms.”
Dirk Barfuss, Director EMEA Channel at NVIDIA, said, “Enterprise AI is shifting to inference-optimised and agentic infrastructure to power next-generation applications. NVIDIA accelerated computing, together with NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, provides the performance and scale these workloads demand. With the launch of their AI Lab, GBM now has the perfect showcase to demonstrate to organisations across the GCC how they can help deploy that infrastructure securely and at scale.”
GBM’s AI Lab will provide a platform for organisations to evaluate AI technologies and use cases while addressing the infrastructure, security and sovereignty considerations involved in moving AI workloads into production. The offering is aimed at enterprises and organisations seeking to develop AI capabilities while retaining greater control over their data and deployment environments.
