Lucid Rolls Out Air UX 3.0 with Redesigned Controls and Improved EV Navigation

Lucid Group has announced Air UX 3.0, a major software update for the Lucid Air that introduces a redesigned interface and changes to navigation, media, vehicle controls, user profiles and smartphone integration. The update, which is delivered as part of Software Version 2.11.0, is being rolled out over the air to eligible Lucid Air vehicles from September 29, 2026. The interface is based on the digital experience introduced with the Lucid Gravity.
For model year 2025 and newer Lucid Air vehicles, Air UX 3.0 is available through the software update. Model year 2022, 2023 and some 2024 vehicles require an infotainment processor upgrade to support the new interface. In the US, the processor upgrade costs $950, including installation and excluding applicable taxes. Lucid said pricing for other markets will be announced separately. Owners can contact Lucid Customer Care to confirm eligibility and availability.
“The Air UX 3.0 update reflects our commitment to the continuous improvement of the customer experience,” said Marc Solsona Palomar, VP of Software at Lucid. “Lucid Air owners will enjoy more reliable and intuitive experiences as the Air update brings the latest advances to their vehicles.”
Redesigned Controls and Home Screen
Air UX 3.0 introduces a redesigned Home experience on the Left Cockpit Panel, using swipeable cards to provide access to frequently used functions. The cards provide shortcuts for media, vehicle controls, calls, saved home and work destinations, and nearby charging stations. Temporary cards can also appear when certain functions are active, while swiping provides access to the corresponding full application on the Pilot Panel.
A new Quick Controls menu can be accessed by swiping down from the top of the Pilot Panel. This provides access to frequently used settings and controls without requiring drivers to navigate through multiple menus. The update also changes how drivers move between navigation, media, vehicle controls and other applications across the Cockpit and Pilot Panel displays.
Profile management has also been revised, with faster switching between profiles, additional controls for the Primary profile over linked keys and a simplified process for resetting the Guest profile. Lucid has added a PIN-protected process for exiting Guest profile, along with six-digit PIN authentication.
Updated Navigation and EV Routing
Air UX 3.0 adds an updated dual-screen navigation experience, including a Favorites function and Auto Dark Mode. EV routing has also been expanded. Drivers can set preferences for charging networks, charging-adapter compatibility and the minimum battery range they want to have remaining when reaching their destination.
Expanded Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
The update also improves the performance and reliability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both platforms can now occupy a larger area across the right side of the Cockpit Display, giving drivers more screen space for navigation, calls, messaging and media applications.
Lucid supports both wireless and USB connections for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, providing drivers with additional options for connecting compatible smartphones. Air UX 3.0 is delivered through Software Version 2.11.0, with availability depending on vehicle model year and, for some earlier Air vehicles, the required infotainment hardware upgrade.
