Review: Corsair SABRE PRO CHAMPION SERIES Optical Gaming Mouse

The name of this gaming mouse may be quite a mouthful. However, the performance it offers is incredible. The new SABRE PRO CHAMPION SERIES Optical Gaming Mouse from Corsair is a wired gaming mouse that is aimed at esports professionals who want the best of gaming arsenal out there on the market.

In terms of design, the Corsair SABRE PRO has a right-handed shape with two side buttons on the left and a matte black plastic body with a slight texture. There’s a glossy Corsair logo at the top of the mouse towards the back and a grey SABRE logo on the left mouse button.

The Corsair SABRE PRO’s build quality feels impressive, and there’s no flexibility in the body. This one is a lightweight competition-grade gaming mouse equipped with a drag-reducing flexible paracord cable and ultra-responsive QUICKSTRIKE buttons. It is also lightweight at 69-gms and features an ergonomic design.

The Corsair SABRE PRO also comes with good feet with rounded edges and the mouse comes with an excellent quality cable covered with paracord. It also comes with replaceable 100% PTTE glide pads that help you with rapid movements during an intense gaming session. The mouse, as mentioned before, comes with Corsair QUICKSTRIKE Buttons that ensure every click is immediate and responsive.

The mouse also supports Corsair’s AXON hyper-processing technology that delivers inputs to your PC up to 8x faster with 8000Hz hyper-polling. The SABRE PRO is also equipped with an 18000-DPI optical sensor, which can be customised in 1 DPI step, with a DPI button to cycle through five presets on the fly.

Since it is a plug-and-play gaming mouse, no installation or setup is required. You can use Corsair’s iCUE software to customise the buttons on the mouse. Through the iCUE software, you can set the buttons to run macros, act as media controls, launch applications, or even perform keyboard keystrokes.

The mouse was very comfortable to hold and use, and it offered a very nice grip. The cord of the mouse felt neat and sturdy. The scroll wheel felt precise and has a pronounced step definition. Since it is notched and has a rubberised surface, it felt grippy and easy to control.
