While several configuration options are available, our test unit came packed with a 13th-generation Raptor Lake processor incorporating a blend of high-performance and power-efficient cores, thereby enhancing overall multitasking capabilities. Under the hood, the laptop is powered by a Core i7-1355U processor, with Intel Iris Xe Graphics handling all your graphics requirements.
You also get 16GB of RAM and 512GB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. The Aspire 5 Spin 14 features a well-constructed steel-grey chassis adorned with smooth, matte finishes. While there is a slight degree of flex in the base unit (constructed from plastic) and the lid (constructed from metal on the back), it remains within acceptable bounds.
In terms of connectivity options, you get a boatload. On the right edge, you get a dedicated slot for the stylus, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port (USB-A), and the Kensington lock. On the left edge, you get one Thunderbolt 4 port (USB-C, with Power Delivery and DisplayPort support), one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port (USB-A), and one HDMI 2.1 port. An SD card reader is missing though.
The display comes with an integrated web camera that boasts a resolution of 2.1MP and a maximum resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels. The web camera offers good image clarity and intelligent functionalities such as Acer PurifiedView and Acer PurifiedVoice, designed to enhance visual and audio quality during video calls.
The backlit chiclet keyboard on this Aspire 5 Spin 14 features flat and smooth keys with a short travel distance, distinct tactile feedback, and a reasonable level of key resistance. You also get a click pad measuring approximately 10.5-by-6.5cm, offering a short travel distance and a well-defined tactile click.

During day-to-day computing, such as office work and internet browsing, the laptop operates quietly without any noticeable issues with power consumption. The power consumption remains within the expected range for the hardware configuration under normal conditions.
However, during stress testing, the CPU and GPU throttling leads to a reduction in power consumption. The bundled 65-watt power supply proves to be adequately sized for the laptop’s needs. In our Battery Eater test, the Acer Aspire 5 Spin 14 achieved an impressive runtime of 10 hours and 57 minutes.
