Google Cloud Unveils Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services

Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, a purpose-built agentic AI platform designed to help banks and capital markets firms automate complex financial workflows while maintaining controls around security, governance and data provenance.

Initially available in preview for capital markets and corporate banking, the platform combines a Google-managed Financial Research agent, more than 50 specialised financial skills, 13 enterprise data connectors and access to third-party AI agents through Google’s partner ecosystem.

Google Cloud says financial institutions including Deutsche Bank and CME Group are already using the technology, with Deutsche Bank serving as a key design partner for the Financial Research agent. The launch forms part of Google’s broader expansion of Gemini Enterprise into industry-specific applications. Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services and Gemini Enterprise for Legal are the first specialised packages built on the company’s secure and governed Gemini Enterprise platform.

The new platform targets a growing challenge for financial institutions: moving beyond general-purpose AI assistants towards AI systems capable of carrying out multi-step workflows using enterprise data and financial information. Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services connects AI models with financial data sources, internal systems and specialised tools while providing controls intended to meet the requirements of regulated organisations.

Its Financial Research agent is designed to automate research workflows and produce outputs with confidence scores, methodologies, data snapshots and source citations. Users can access it through the Gemini Enterprise application or integrate it into other agent workflows using Agent-to-Agent (A2A) APIs. The platform also supports Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, allowing the agent to connect with enterprise data sources.

“Financial professionals are looking for an AI platform that doesn’t lock them into any one model or ecosystem, connects to the IT systems they use every day, and is highly secure and compliant,” said Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud. “With Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, we are delivering exactly that—agentic capabilities for financial workflows, built with verifiable data explainability, so institutions can turn AI innovation into a confident competitive advantage.”

The platform includes more than 50 purpose-built skills covering activities ranging from report formatting and brand compliance to financial analysis and research. These can be used across different financial roles, including private equity, wealth management and compliance. Use cases include credit risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, market news analysis and investigative financial research. The skills are available within the Financial Research agent and can also be incorporated into customer-built agents.

Google Cloud is also providing secure connectors to a range of licensed financial and business data providers, including FactSet, LSEG, Moody’s, MSCI, PitchBook, S&P Global, Dun & Bradstreet, Daloopa, Finnhub and SEC Edgar, among others. This is intended to allow AI agents to work with current market information, regulatory filings and internal enterprise databases rather than relying solely on general-purpose model knowledge.

Google Cloud is also opening Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services to third-party agents. The partner ecosystem includes agents for activities such as business verification and KYC, loan documentation, financial analysis, data retrieval, research and energy-market analysis. Among the examples cited by Google Cloud are the D&B Business Verification Agent, FlowX Agents, Obin Financial Agent, S&P Global Data Retrieval Agent and S&P Global Energy Horizons Agents.

The approach allows financial institutions to combine Google’s own agents and skills with specialised third-party capabilities rather than building every AI workflow internally. Google Cloud says the platform can be applied to a range of financial workflows.

For relationship managers and financial advisers, the Financial Research agent can generate customer insights, recommendations and supporting materials. For KYC and onboarding, it can analyse information from PDFs, spreadsheets and regulatory filings to help map corporate structures, assess risk and identify ultimate beneficial owners.

In portfolio management, Google Cloud says the technology can reduce complex bond portfolio risk analysis to less than five minutes, including automated suggestions for duration-hedging strategies. The platform is also designed to identify potential mispricing in credit markets and accelerate bond issuance workflows, including reducing the time required to prepare client pitch presentations.

Deutsche Bank is among the financial institutions preparing to deploy Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services. The bank participated in the development of the Financial Research agent, contributing expertise around security, governance and data residency requirements.

Deutsche Bank plans to use the agent initially within its Corporate Bank to identify customer requirements, recommend relevant products, streamline acquisition processes and track market developments. The bank is also exploring applications in financial crime risk management, forecasting and scenario analysis, as well as pitch preparation across its Private Bank and Investment Bank operations.

“As a design partner, Deutsche Bank has helped shape this capability in view of the realities of a highly regulated industry—from data protection and governance to the workflows our teams use every day,” said Marie-Jeanne Deverdun, Chief Technology, Data and Innovation Officer, and Member of the Deutsche Bank Management Board. “Starting in the Corporate Bank, we see significant potential to reduce manual research effort, improve the consistency and auditability of outputs, and give our teams more time for client conversations. This is an important step in applying AI where it can make a practical difference: safely, responsibly and at scale.”

The launch comes as financial institutions face increasing pressure to demonstrate how AI systems use data and make decisions. Google Cloud says Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services provides a central control plane for IT and risk teams, incorporating risk management, audit logging and governance into the platform.

The company also says the platform has been designed to address financial-sector requirements around security, compliance and data residency. It is integrated with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, allowing users to generate and export AI-assisted work directly into applications including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Google Cloud is also working with systems integrators and AI specialists including Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, Genpact, Infosys, KPMG, NTT Data, PwC and others to support deployments and custom configurations.

With financial institutions increasingly experimenting with autonomous AI agents, Google’s move positions Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services as an attempt to shift agentic AI from general productivity assistance towards controlled, auditable automation of core banking and capital markets processes.
