TCS And Porsche Partner To Accelerate AI-Powered Mobility

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a strategic partnership with Porsche AG to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across the automaker’s mobility value chain. The partnership is backed by a five-year strategic deal between the two companies. As part of the agreement, TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Porsche, focusing on AI-driven innovation across manufacturing, engineering, operations and customer experience.

TCS, through a subsidiary, will also acquire 100% of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH (MHP), Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary. The proposed partnership and acquisition remain subject to regulatory approvals.

MHP brings extensive experience in automotive and industrial consulting and implementation, with expertise spanning business transformation, AI, SAP, manufacturing digitalisation and connected mobility. Its experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes for automotive and industrial customers is expected to complement TCS’ global engineering and technology capabilities.

K. Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Consultancy Services, said, “TCS is pleased to partner Porsche in its transformation journey. As AI, software, and data redefine the automotive industry, this partnership brings together TCS’ capabilities in AI, engineering, technology and business transformation with MHP’s strong automotive consulting expertise. Together, we will industrialize AI at scale for Porsche, accelerating innovation across the value chain to deliver intelligent, software-defined mobility experiences of the future.”

Dr. Michael Leiters, CEO, Porsche AG, said, “Porsche is taking another important step in its strategy to focus resolutely on its core business with the transfer of MHP to Tata Consultancy Services. At the same time, we are gaining a strategic partner in TCS. By combining Porsche’s automotive expertise with TCS’ digital technology and AI capabilities, we will further strengthen our innovative power, increase efficiency, and boost our competitiveness in an increasingly data and software-driven world of mobility.”

The collaboration will focus on three key areas:

  1. Scaling AI across Porsche: TCS will establish the AI Mobility CoE to move AI use cases from development into secure, scalable solutions. The centre will focus on applications across intelligent manufacturing and operations, engineering and customer experience, with the aim of improving operational resilience, accelerating innovation and strengthening competitiveness. The initiative will combine Porsche’s automotive engineering expertise and brand experience with TCS’ capabilities in AI, product engineering, technology and business transformation.
  2. Building long-term value: The five-year strategic agreement between TCS and Porsche will provide a framework for scaling AI transformation and delivering business outcomes across Porsche and its wider mobility ecosystem.
  3. Acquiring MHP: Through its subsidiary, TCS will acquire MHP, strengthening its automotive consulting and AI transformation capabilities. The deal is also expected to expand TCS’ presence in Germany and across the European automotive and industrial sectors.

The transaction is being advised by Deutsche Bank AG, acting as financial adviser to TCS, while Noerr is serving as legal counsel.
