Nutanix has expanded its hybrid multicloud offering in Saudi Arabia with the availability of Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) on Google Cloud in the Google Cloud Dammam region. The move is part of Nutanix’s broader collaboration with Google Cloud, announced at LEAP Saudi Arabia, and is aimed at helping organisations in the Kingdom adopt hybrid cloud while maintaining operational consistency, data residency and application portability.
With NC2 now running in the Dammam region, organisations can extend their existing on-premises Nutanix infrastructure to Google Cloud without having to rearchitect applications. This gives IT teams greater flexibility to migrate workloads, handle capacity requirements, modernise applications and build disaster recovery environments.
The local availability is particularly relevant as Saudi organisations accelerate digital transformation initiatives under Vision 2030 while balancing cloud adoption with regulatory, data residency and latency requirements. By running NC2 in the Dammam region, customers can keep workloads closer to users in the Kingdom while accessing Google Cloud’s scalable infrastructure and cloud services.

Khalid Alohali, Head of Customer Engineering at Google Cloud Saudi Arabia, said the availability represents a milestone in supporting local enterprises on their hybrid cloud journeys. The company says the combination provides a way for organisations to extend existing on-premises environments to Google Cloud, run applications with low latency and simplify operations without having to rearchitect existing systems.
NC2 on Google Cloud is designed to allow applications to move between on-premises Nutanix environments and Google Cloud with minimal disruption.
Organisations can use the platform to address temporary or growing capacity requirements, support application modernisation and deploy disaster recovery environments. Because existing management tools, security policies and operating models can be maintained across environments, businesses can adopt cloud infrastructure without the complexity of refactoring enterprise applications.
The platform can also connect enterprise workloads running on NC2 with Google Cloud services covering AI, machine learning, data analytics and cloud-native development. This gives organisations a way to combine existing enterprise infrastructure with Google Cloud capabilities while maintaining a consistent operating model across private and public cloud environments.
Nutanix says NC2 on Google Cloud in the Dammam region is available immediately through Nutanix and its channel partners. The launch strengthens the hybrid cloud options available to Saudi organisations, particularly those looking to modernise infrastructure while retaining greater control over existing applications, data and operations.
