IFS Launches Industrial AI Platform for Enterprise Operations

IFS has launched IFS Intelligence, a platform designed to help industrial organisations analyse operational data, identify issues and execute tasks across enterprise systems using artificial intelligence.
Announced at IFS Unleashed, the platform brings together information from IFS and third-party systems, including asset records, work orders, production schedules and historical data. Employees can query this information through a conversational interface, receive explanations and recommendations, and initiate actions subject to organisational permissions and approval processes.
The launch addresses challenges associated with fragmented operational data and complex enterprise software environments. In industrial settings, information spread across multiple systems can make it difficult to identify the causes of production delays, equipment downtime, service inefficiencies and waste.
IFS Intelligence is designed to connect this information and support decisions that would otherwise require employees to consult multiple reports, systems and specialists. For example, when a production order is at risk, the platform can analyse factors such as inventory levels, production capacity, supplier commitments, logistics constraints and the financial impact of delays. It can then identify potential causes and recommend actions for approval.
The platform uses live operational data and industry-specific context to generate responses, with supporting sources available for review. Actions are governed by the IFS Industrial AI Harness, which applies permissions, controls and approval requirements to AI-driven workflows.
Three capabilities for industrial workflows
IFS Intelligence includes three principal capabilities: Cowork, Loops and Runway. Cowork enables employees to query operational data in natural language, investigate issues and prepare actions for approval. Users can save useful outputs as Lenses, which provide continuously updated operational views, or convert successful workflows into reusable Skills. The capability can also connect to external systems, including Microsoft 365, through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Loops allows organisations to delegate defined workflows to digital workers that operate in the background and escalate tasks when human judgement or approval is required. Teams can create and configure these digital workers through Studio.
Runway uses natural-language requirements to support the migration, configuration and extension of IFS software. The capability is intended to reduce implementation effort and the risks associated with changes to enterprise applications.
The IFS Industrial AI Harness provides the governance layer across these capabilities. It is designed to ensure that AI-generated recommendations and actions operate within established business rules, permissions and approval processes.
Mark Moffat, CEO of IFS, said industrial organisations could improve performance by making better use of operational expertise and data distributed across their systems and teams.
Licensing and availability
IFS Intelligence is available now under a universal enterprise-wide licence covering the platform’s capabilities across the in-scope IFS software licensed by each customer.
The licensing model does not restrict access through feature tiers. It also includes an entitlement for AI Executions, subject to a fair-use cap rather than a credit-based consumption model.
The platform’s practical impact will depend on its integration with existing systems, the quality of the underlying operational data and the effectiveness of the governance controls applied to AI-driven decisions and actions.
