Snowflake Expands AWS UAE Access, Builds on $2B Marketplace Growth

Snowflake has announced the general availability of its AI Data Cloud on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Middle East (UAE) Region, expanding local access to its platform and enabling organisations to derive deeper AI-powered insights from their data. The move strengthens Snowflake’s long-standing partnership with AWS and follows strong commercial momentum, with Snowflake more than doubling its year-on-year transaction growth on AWS Marketplace to surpass $2 billion in global sales within a single calendar year.

The expansion comes as the UAE continues to position artificial intelligence as a cornerstone of economic development under its National AI Strategy 2031, which prioritises talent development, innovation, and advanced digital infrastructure. As organisations across sectors accelerate AI adoption, demand has grown for secure, well-governed data environments that support real-world AI use cases. Snowflake’s deployment on the AWS Middle East (UAE) Region aims to address these requirements by reducing data latency, improving performance, and helping organisations meet local data residency obligations.

“The combination of secure local infrastructure, strong governance controls, and AI-ready performance is essential as the UAE moves to turn its national AI goals into long-term value,” said Tareq Masoud, Country Manager, UAE, Snowflake. “In our pursuit to consistently deliver and address customer and national needs, our deep collaboration with AWS strengthens that foundation by giving local organisations a powerful way to modernise data platforms, build trusted and secure AI systems, and generate business value and outcomes from their data and AI at scale.”

The latest regional expansion also highlights the depth of the Snowflake–AWS partnership. Globally, Snowflake has doubled its AWS Marketplace growth year on year and has received 14 AWS partner awards, including AWS Partner of the Year across multiple technology, industry, and regional categories.

By leveraging AWS Marketplace, joint customers can more easily procure and deploy Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud alongside AWS services, streamlining adoption and accelerating enterprise AI initiatives. As part of this collaboration, Snowflake and AWS are delivering interoperable data architectures designed to help organisations scale innovation securely and cost-effectively.

Recent innovations include catalog federation between AWS Glue Data Catalog and Snowflake Catalogs, enabling customers to access Apache Iceberg-format data across both platforms without unnecessary data duplication or movement. Snowflake has also introduced catalog-linked databases that connect directly to AWS Glue Data Catalog, allowing automatic discovery and synchronisation while simplifying governance and large-scale data management.
