Review: HP Ink Tank Wireless 415

Ink tank systems have become a mainstay for home and small office users in recent years. Factors such as low material wastage, ink refills on demand, low operation cost, and so on have helped the increased uptake of such devices. The Ink Tank Wireless 415 from HP builds on those factors to deliver a fuss-free, easy to use multi-function printer that also packs in good quality output.

The printer comes with HP’s specially-designed leak-proof ink bottles that lets you refill the tanks, which are located on the printer’s right side. Setting up the printer is a walk in the park. Once the printer is out of the box, you need to fill up the ink tanks. Once that is done and dusted, connect the printer to the power outlet and let it validate and charge the ink and the print heads.

With that out of the way, go to for a seamless and intuitive setup procedure. Hereon, the setup application takes up the job of setting up the printer on your home or office network, without you having to mess around with the network settings and so on. I like the fact that anyone with or without any sort of technical expertise, can setup the HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 in a matter of minutes.

The HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 is a multi-function printer – it allows you to print, scan and copy. It also supports mobile printing functions that allows you to print documents right from your smartphones using the HP Smart App. In terms of the print speed, we clocked around 9 ppm for monochrome prints and around 4 ppm for color prints. The speed is not bad for a printer that offers excellent quality printouts.

Scanning documents is also very easy using the HP Easy Scan app. The final scanned files were crisp and clear. The copy function of the 415 also worked like a charm. For a price of AED 599, the HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 MFP is value for money, especially considering that the ink bottles bundled with the device can offer up to 8000 colour prints and up to 6000 monochrome prints.
