WSO2 has appointed Harry Ault as Chief Executive Officer, putting a new leader at the helm as the company enters its next phase of growth and expands its strategy around AI governance and agentic enterprises. Ault will take on day-to-day leadership of WSO2 with immediate effect, working alongside the executive team to build on the company’s global momentum and strengthen its engagement with customers and partners.
The appointment brings more than 20 years of experience across revenue leadership, strategic partnerships, corporate development and go-to-market strategy. Ault joins WSO2 from SambaNova Systems, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer and oversaw global sales, marketing, field engineering and global support. His career includes leading international growth initiatives, M&A integrations and go-to-market expansion across multiple industries.
Ault’s appointment comes after WSO2 expanded its senior leadership team over the past year, including the addition of a Chief Financial Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. The leadership changes coincide with the company’s efforts to advance its Trusted AI Governance strategy through the WSO2 Agentic Enterprise Fabric (AEF). The approach brings together API management, integration, identity, engineering and agent platforms, with governance extending to AI agents as well as the underlying systems and infrastructure on which they operate.
The company says the governance capabilities are built natively into the platform rather than added as a separate layer. “We are thrilled to welcome Harry to WSO2 at such a pivotal moment for the company,” said Jonas Persson, Chairman of the Board. “Harry’s proven ability to build winning teams and scale go-to-market strategy globally makes him the right leader to take WSO2 into its next chapter.”
Ault takes over at a time when enterprises are increasingly moving towards AI-driven and agentic operating models, creating new requirements around governance, integration and control. “Over the past two decades, WSO2 has built a remarkable platform and a loyal customer base of more than 700 enterprise organizations, and I’m honored to join at such an exciting inflection point,” said Harry Ault, incoming CEO of WSO2. “As organizations transform into AI-driven, agentic enterprises, they need a trusted open-source partner to navigate the change with speed, control and confidence without adding complexity. I’m looking forward to deepening our engagement in the open-source community, growing our global partner ecosystem, and expanding WSO2’s value to customers and developers everywhere.”
The company has more than 700 enterprise organisations among its customer base and plans to deepen its engagement with the open-source community while expanding its global partner ecosystem under Ault’s leadership. Ault succeeds WSO2 founder Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, who stepped down as CEO in May 2026. During the transition, WSO2 Chief Revenue Officer Devaka Randeniya served as Acting CEO. Randeniya will continue working closely with Ault as the new CEO assumes his responsibilities.
The leadership transition marks a significant change for WSO2 as the company moves into a new phase focused on scaling its global business while positioning its platform around the emerging requirements of AI-driven and agentic enterprises.
