King Salman Park Foundation and Huawei Sign Strategic MoU to Advance AI-Enabled Smart Park Innovation
King Salman Park Foundation (KSPF) and Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at LEAP 2026, establishing a two-year framework for cooperation focused on artificial intelligence, smart-city capabilities and digital innovation at King Salman Park.
The agreement supports KSPF’s ambition to develop King Salman Park into an intelligent, engaging and continuously evolving urban destination in the heart of Riyadh. Under the cooperation, technology will serve as an enabler for enhanced experiences for visitors, residents and employees, while supporting more efficient, sustainable and intelligent park operations.
Aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, the MoU will bring together KSPF and Huawei expertise across AI and innovation, smart-city platforms, digital infrastructure, intelligent operations, talent development and sustainability. Artificial intelligence will be a key area of focus under the cooperation. KSPF and Huawei will explore AI innovation scenarios and develop an AI roadmap, while evaluating selected use cases through proof-of-concept initiatives.
The two organisations will also explore smart-city platform frameworks covering system and data integration, data governance, common interfaces and service standards. These foundations are intended to provide a scalable digital environment that can support the Park’s evolving technology requirements.
The cooperation will extend beyond AI to emerging technologies including Digital Twin, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, intelligent automation and sustainable digital solutions. Selected technologies may be piloted and evaluated for potential integration into King Salman Park’s digital ecosystem, with applications spanning intelligent operations, visitor experience, sustainability and future smart-park capabilities.
The partnership reflects an approach in which technology is viewed not simply as infrastructure, but as a means of improving how the Park is experienced, managed and continuously developed. By combining AI, data, smart-city platforms and intelligent operations, KSPF aims to explore new approaches to delivering more intuitive and engaging experiences while providing its teams with greater operational visibility and opportunities to improve service quality and efficiency.
Work on standardised ICT architecture and technical frameworks will provide further support, alongside smart-city principles for system integration, data integration and governance. Together, these foundations are intended to create a secure, scalable and future-ready digital environment capable of evolving with the Park. The cooperation will also focus on developing the technical capabilities required to sustain innovation over the long term.
The MoU includes ICT talent development and knowledge-transfer initiatives, including a train-the-trainer model designed to strengthen internal capabilities. Through these initiatives, KSPF engineers and developers will have opportunities to build expertise in emerging technologies and support their continued adoption across the Park. By combining technology exploration with skills development and knowledge transfer, the cooperation aims to give KSPF the capabilities needed to continuously evaluate and adopt technologies that can contribute to the Park’s future development.
