Omdia Forecasts 11.6% Growth in Global LED Video Display Revenue Through 2030

The global LED video display market is facing slower near-term growth amid rising component costs, trade tensions and weaker demand in traditional applications. However, new research from Omdia forecasts revenue growth at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.6% between 2026 and 2030, driven by emerging applications, regional manufacturing expansion and a shift towards higher-value products.
According to Omdia’s LED Video Display Market Tracker – 2Q26, global shipments rose 3.3% year on year in the second quarter of 2026, while revenue declined 0.2%, highlighting continued pressure on the industry.
Since late 2025, manufacturers have faced significant increases in the cost of components, including LED chips, driver integrated circuits (ICs), printed circuit boards (PCBs) and power supplies. In response to successive supplier price adjustments, several brands have implemented three to four rounds of price increases, with cumulative product price adjustments ranging from 3% to 30%.
“Rising prices and changing market conditions are prompting vendors to reassess their product portfolios and focus on higher-value opportunities,” said Cindy Liu, Senior Analyst at Omdia. “Vendors are increasingly prioritising mid-range and premium products, improving energy efficiency and reliability, while expanding production capacity in areas where they have competitive advantages.”
Emerging markets drive regional manufacturing expansion
Despite near-term challenges, emerging markets across Asia and Oceania, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and Africa, and Eastern Europe offer significant growth opportunities.
Urbanisation, infrastructure investment, energy-efficiency initiatives and the wider adoption of digital display technologies are encouraging manufacturers to expand regional production and diversify supply chains. Daktronics, for example, is investing in a new manufacturing facility in Saltillo, Mexico. The facility is expected to give the company greater flexibility in managing production costs, tariffs and regional customer requirements.
Leyard has also been expanding its manufacturing presence in Saudi Arabia following a 2024 agreement with Saudi Engineer Holding Group Establish (EHG). Production was originally scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026.
Emerging applications create new opportunities
Advances in Micro LED, chip-on-board (COB) packaging, high-precision seamless splicing and interactive technologies are extending LED video displays beyond traditional applications. Across sports venues, immersive cultural attractions, film and television production, public safety and commercial retail, LED displays are increasingly becoming integral to the experience and functionality of an environment rather than serving solely as supporting hardware.
Immersive entertainment, cultural tourism, virtual production, sports venues and commercial environments are creating opportunities for manufacturers to deliver more sophisticated display solutions. Curved and spherical LED installations, for instance, are enabling immersive visual experiences in planetariums, science centres and cultural attractions. Multi-sided LED CAVE systems are also creating immersive environments without the need for head-mounted devices, supporting applications in museums, corporate exhibitions, simulation and training.
These developments are expected to contribute to stronger market growth from 2027 onwards. Omdia forecasts that global LED video display revenue will grow at a CAGR of 11.6% between 2026 and 2030. Corporate signage is expected to record a higher CAGR of 14.7%, while public space applications are forecast to grow at 10.0% over the same period.
