Emirates SkyCargo Launches AI Tech Logistics Service for Transporting AI Infrastructure

Emirates SkyCargo has introduced AI Tech, a specialised logistics service designed to support the transportation of artificial intelligence infrastructure and other high-value technology equipment across its global network.

The new service is aimed at addressing the growing logistical requirements associated with large-scale AI deployments, which increasingly involve transporting sensitive and high-value equipment such as AI server racks, graphics processing units (GPUs), semiconductors and capital equipment.

AI Tech combines priority loading, specialised cargo handling, proactive shipment monitoring and customer coordination through Emirates SkyCargo’s command centre in Dubai. The service is designed to support time-sensitive shipments while providing greater visibility and oversight throughout the transportation process.

As organisations expand their AI infrastructure, the movement of large and sensitive computing equipment presents specific logistical challenges. These include strict delivery schedules, specialised handling requirements and the transportation of oversized and exceptionally heavy cargo.

Emirates SkyCargo’s new offering incorporates standardised handling procedures, airport-to-airport shipment visibility, milestone updates and dedicated specialist support. The service has been developed using the airline’s experience in transporting AI-related hardware across its international network.

AI Tech is available for most AI-related shipments. However, highly specialised manufacturing equipment will require advance assessments of handling capabilities at the relevant stations to ensure safe transportation.

The launch comes as Emirates SkyCargo continues to expand its dedicated cargo capacity. By March 2027, the airline plans to operate 23 dedicated freighters, providing additional main-deck capacity for large and dense server racks, some of which weigh more than 3.5 tonnes.

The airline will also utilise cargo capacity available through its wide-body passenger aircraft to support the transportation of AI infrastructure and related equipment.

The introduction of AI Tech reflects the growing importance of specialised logistics services as investment in data centres, computing infrastructure and AI technologies increases worldwide.
